Condition: Clean with age discoloration on endpapers, corner bend to covers and pages, gap in title page spine seam; covers age discolored with edge wear, 3" split in rear spine paper. glassine wrapper adhered to paper dustjacket on inside edges, age discoloration to wrapper, dustjacket itself appears unaffected but with edge and corner wear, small tear top spine.
Summary: Kiyohira Fujiwara built Chuson-ji in 1105 and gradually the complex of buildings numbered 40 Buddhist temples and about 300 priests' quarters. Nearly all these structures have disappeared; now there remains only the Konjikido (the golden temple), with a few minor structures.
