Condition: Library rebound and part of Punahou School library with nameplate inside cover stating such, 2 Punahou impression stampings, Punahou Sch written in pencil on last page of text, age discoloration on endpapers and title page along with last 3 pages of text, clean text, first b/w plate has archival-tape repairs, even toning outer page edges, small scrape on side page edge and correlating bump to side edge, spine straight and tight with some discoloration and rub on covers.
Summary: Covers the islands' history along with the development of the Anglican church in Hawaii. Discusses the position of the church since the death of Kamehameha IV and gives a sketch of the islands and people, commerce, social condition, etc. Includes an Appendix and Addenda.
