Summary: "This book began as a compilation of stories and remembrances for the children of the 'Ohana Kame'ekua. The family elders wanted the children to know who they were and the history of their family. In 1983 the elders of the family decided to share these stories with other families of Moloka'i and Hawaii Nei, so they too could know something of their past. Historians and anthropologists differ with some of the material but this is how the stories were told and this is how they are presented."
